Zede Engineering PLC is a company established on August 1, 1999 Eth. Calander with 8,975 000.00 (Eight Million Nine Thousand Seventy Five) Birr registered investment. The company has now started its operation on advanced short term training and international welders certification on its 500m2 compound.   The company has imported various state of the art welding machineries, Manual metal arc welding, Metal Inert/Active Gas (MIG/MAG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding machines for its training and metal fabrication operations.

The strength and competence of the company lies on long years of both academic and practical experience of the major share holder and general manager - Dr-Eng Abiy Awoke and highly competent engineers and technicians working with the company. Brief personal qualification summary of Dr.-Eng Abiy Awoke is as follows.

• B.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia and the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom respectively.
• Eight years teaching experience at Universities mainly in Addis Ababa University (AAU) in Mechanical Design, Product Development and Production Techniques at B.Sc. and M.Sc. levels (January, 1994  to August, 1998 in AAU)
• Seven and half years of industrial Experience as head of equipment design, as an expert, manager, board chairman, supervisor and coordinator of government owned industries in metal and engineering sectors.
• Head of equipment design and head of technology dissemination and engineering consulting group at Basic Metals and Engineering Industries Agency   (February 1998 to March 2002).  Involved in the design and manufacture and erection work of conveyors, tankers, many types of machine parts, agro processing machines, dies and molds, etc..
• Chairman of the board of directors of Akaki Spare Parts and Hand Tools Share Company (June, 2003 – April, 2005), Member of the board of directors of Ethio-Plastic Share Company (March 2002 –Present) and Chairman of the board of directors of Abay Techincal and Trading Services Share Company (May, 2002 – June 2003)
• Conducted job enhancement trainings to professionals on management, design, product development, manufacturing, maintenance, occupational health, industrial safety, quality control and the environment.
• One of the founders of Ethiopian Society of Mechanical Engineers (ESME).  Had worked as a member of the publication committee, Policy Council Chairman and V/President of ESME. Currently serving the society as Chairman of the Engineering Council and Member of the technical committee for certification of Engineers through JEAPAS (Joint Engineering and Architects Professional Association Secretariat).
• Consulted and participated in Electro Mechanical works with SAVA Engineering PLC
• Had worked with Sintec Ethiopia PLC on hot dip galvanization plant design, manufacturing and erection work project and advanced training of welders on MIG/MAG welding for Metehra sugar factory, Finchaa Sugar factory Mugher cement industry, Harar brewery and other manufacturing industries.
